Solo Teo Petruzzi
Teo Petruzzi (*1994) is the recipient of the Solo prize awarded by the Kunstgesellschaft Luzern. The prize consists of a solo exhibition during the traditional annual exhibition zentral! XL 2025. In this exhibition, Petruzzi presents the video installation entitled Der sichere Hafen (The safe haven), which takes a humorously critical look at the Swiss National Bank.
The work reflects on the tasks, history and interior world of the National Bank from the viewpoint of a toilet bowl. Der sichere Hafen explains the mechanisms of the Swiss National Bank and its questionable investments. The toilet bowl can also be seen as standing for Switzerland. Petruzzi points out the injustices in a country which, under the guise of “neutrality”, provides a confidential, secretive and guarded service—discretely disposing of the world’s dirty business.
